So it’s been a long while since I have written on this blog. What’s funny is that this blog started last year when I turned 27 and soon quit after. Now that I just recently turned 28 I began thinking about my life and how it has changed since last year. In that thought I decided to finish what I started. So here I am back writing in this blog to show my struggles, improvements and conquering of this crazy world!!
To set the stage of where I am right now: I am on a barge somewhere on the Gulf of Mexico waiting on the weather to clear up so we can lay a pipeline on the bottom of the ocean. Sound fun? I have been on this barge for about 4 days and really cannot wait to get off of here. There is absolutely nothing to do…at all!! There is no cell phone service and small windows to use the internet! There is no view, just endless water. The barge continually moves and there is no sure footing. It’s not something to write home about…so here I am writing to the whole world about it!!
So what has happened since the last time I have written? Well last time I had written I had just started my Janx job and really was suffering financially. I was dating off and on, Rachel Walsh, and had Michelle and Ashley a part of my business!! Well now that has all changed! I have worked almost every day since I last left off. Rachel and I parted ways! It’s for the better and it will never be again! Michelle and Ashley proved to not want to work for a business and have decided to find other means of income. I am on my own in this business and have started dating someone much more mature than any of the last girls I have ever dated.
So now I am really turning my life around deciding where to go from here. I really do hope that everyone sits around and watches the ride. In our country very few people are rising to the top and looking at the positive. You may vote against me but in this time is the chance to rise to the top. It’s the only time people are throwing in their chips and laying down and dying! I have no competition!

Struggles in Business
When we were little we all had a teacher that stood in front of the class and told us we could be whatever we wanted to be!! We were told growing up that the people we should respect are those who figure out their goals, work towards their goals endlessly and then those who don’t give up when hurdles come their way!!
This is funny to me because: If I went to college and got a degree and pulled great grades and then went off to a big city and got a big desk job and then climbed to the top of the ladder everyone would applaud me!! In that job I might be able to work with other really important business people and work on jobs that are seen in the public eye! I might market some great product and get beautiful people to model along side of my project! I might travel with the job and work long hours in parts of the year so that I can take the worry free vacation to some exotic island!!
In my business….I read and study a lot and constantly talk to other people about it to gain knowledge but because I haven’t paid for the knowledge (also known as going in debt...not a great business decision) but have decided to on my own search it out its not considered by most responsible!! In my business I started at the top and now I am finding others who want to work just as hard as I do so that we can have the vacations to the exotic beaches one day!! Now maybe or maybe not my business will make the public eye or a product will require beautiful models to push a project or even tons of travel, but it is never the less my goal and dream!! Just as those who dream of corporate America as their job, I dream of a flourishing t-shirt business…and what makes both successful….doing the things required to reach the goal!!
In big business, people who work for that company have a responsibility to use what resources they have to push their products to the top. I feel that in my business I have that same responsibility. Recently I was told that I was unprofessional because I wrote on this blog about the physical appearance of the two I work with on the Print Distortion project. I really want to address this: First...this blog is meant to be “the rest of the story” about my business and life. It is not meant to sell shirts or get me bank loans!! It is meant to show everyone my marketing plans and ideals in life!! Second…my first priority in business is to work with people that are good at what they do!! Michelle is great at organization, keeping me grounded, research and she is incredibly honest and trustworthy (hard to come by)! Ashley is brilliant with graphics and web design, she is a great photographer and she is very humble!! If these two girls happened to be guys and had the same talents I would work with them. It is a plus that these two girls are attractive (business 101- sex sells, don’t work in business, especially retail, unless you know this), and it would also be a plus if these two girls happened to be guys and those guys were attractive!! We are talking business here folks…not relationships!! The goal is business!! Third…If I worked for a company and had to work alongside someone from the opposite sex, would a girlfriend tell me or imply that I shouldn’t work that job anymore? If the company had me working on a marketing approach that needed me scheduling photo shoots with models would I be considered a dog? Do we only find jobs that employ people of the same sex? Of course not!! If my business would be able to grow because of a female…I’m going to work with her!! If a model shoot would push my business further in its goals then I am going to schedule it!! If I am able to market the people that work/wear Print Distortion as attractive then I am going to do it!!
Conclusion: If a girlfriend does not let Print Distortion grow I am going to get rid of her and if she does not see Business 101 values we don’t have anything in common!

Print Distortion is changing!!!
Almost four years after I have started the website Print Distortion I have decided to take the site down for 5 weeks and work on re-inventing the whole business!! Its time to graduate Print D from grade school and create a career for the little guy!
How did Print Distortion get started?
Print Distortion actually started from my little bro (lead singer for Nevercast) asking my Aunt to make him a couple shirts for Christmas. His first shirt was “I’m a Ninja (in a high voice)” and his second was “Act like a giraffe”!! Months after the shirts were made for him he approached me to see if I would help him out on a project of starting a small shirt company for his band and pleasure…..Print Distortion was then born!! It has grown slowly and has been seen in the Meridian Mall Christmas 07 on a kiosk, with Nevercast from their beginning, in my beloved tattoo shop Twisted Ink and worn on thousands and thousands of people’s bodies! Print Distortion has sold to nearly every state and most European countries!!
What does Print Distortion stand for?
We created Print Distortion because I cannot stand crude and sexual humor!! Period!! On Shirts!!! I thought that I could create shirts that would make the crude, the sexual and the wholesome laugh…at the same time!! I know I have! Just to set the record straight...Print Distortion won’t ever create sexual, violent, and crude or off color!!!
So where is Print D going?
The first big change is Print Distortion is with the structure. I have added the ever so beautiful and resourceful Michelle Wright to the staff! She is handling all of the paperwork, taxes, ordering and is providing to have unlimited management and organizational skills!! I also just added Ashley Wood, who is an amazing photographer, web designer, and creative blond bombshell to Print D.
So how are we re-inventing Print D?
We are launching Print D in three stages!
First: New look with different fit shirts to offer more choices. New shirt Designs with tons of new sayings. Monthly newsletter with more opportunity for feedback from buyers. Watch for Sept 1st…this is our first launch date!!
Second: Add a tattoo art shirt line. The boys at Twisted Ink have been slaving away to create an amazing art line for Print Distortion.
Third: Print Distortion by Christmas time will open printing to everyone!!! We are adding printing in bulk for groups and also shirt design options for one of a kind shirts!!
Watch for September 1st…mark it on your calendar…budget your money to spend on the site…and make sure to click your mouse on
http://www.printdistortion.com/ to see if I make the deadline or not!!

The real stuff!!
It has been forever since I have written on this….summer gets busy!! I have although spent a lot of time thinking, working and planning. I want to take the time to address an issue, but first Ill let you know where I am in everything!
I have been launching more of Print Distortion stuff and I am finding that tattoo shops will be extremely profitable for me. I put up a display in Twisted Ink and have sold about 6 shirts a week. Not a huge amount of sales but with that will result in over $3,000 profit in the next year. Every little bit adds up!
The art side of business is going extremely well and I am starting to pull in more art from South Africa and I am getting lots of people excited for the hard to get Zulu art!! Again, not a huge amount of sales but every little bit adds up to paying off the debt!
Now on to the real stuff:
Through talking with a friend about this blog it dawned on me that I have been lying through my teeth on this blog!! I have been playing it safe and not giving the real story behind what my goals are in this. So here we go!
It seems that over the last 100 years our country has started the idea...work smart not hard…but along the way hard work has been thrown out completely. We are buying into the dot com generation, only wanting a quick buck but unwilling to put forth effort into a job to succeed. I have seen so many lazy people complain about not having a job but refusing to take an interview that I have set up for them, people who have no job but wont take anything under $10 and tons of people talking about starting a business but don’t do the research or the savings to make it happen.
I have heard time and time again that it’s our countries fault that there are no jobs and the economy is the problem why people are poor. So this coupled with all the people out there that told me I was never going to make it…. my second grade special Ed teacher who discouraged me from reading…I want to succeed to prove those people wrong and to be listened to. That’s right...listened to!!! I have no voice because I have not proven my theories right! Once those theories are proven right I will have a soap box to stand on!
My theories:
Research makes it real
Persistence makes the grade
Work ethics make it happen
At the end of this week I will start writing on each one of these theories…so stay tuned!!

Workouts that kill!!
The last couple weeks have been crazy busy for me! I have been working a lot, working out a lot and thinking a lot! Here is an update on the last 2 weeks!
First: I have started working out with two MMA fighters about 3 times a week. We have been developing a boxing type workout that I can say kills!!!!!!!! We have changed up the workout every time we have met to keep the workout fun and new. The main goal of the workout is to exhaust ourselves while still keeping proper technique. This has been a challenging goal. We have worked on endurance a couple of the days….hitting the bag at half strength for a longer time and we have worked on power…every hit is as hard as we can hit for a shorter time. We have thrown in sit ups and pull ups and round after round. We use the third floor of my house that is shut off from the air conditioning so the temp reaches about 90. I am starting to see a difference in my body after two weeks!
ONE GOAL is right on track!
Second: The last two weeks have really been on track financially, although not an immediate change with the debt department but starting to set some things up for the future. Print Distortion (my shirt business) has been having some great things happen and some contracts set up to really push sales in the near future. I have been able to add a screen printer and someone to organize and help with the structure of the business. This has allowed me to concentrate more on sales. The next couple months are looking very good financially which will allow me to dump more and more on my debt!!
SECOND GOAL is pushing for a good future
Third: Love is such a weird thing and lovers just seem to get weirder! During this last Christmas I started dating a woman who has so many incredible characteristics. It seems though that in the area where I lacked support she was lacking confidence and in the area where she lacked support I was lacking confidence. This created a very destructive relationship. One which I felt neglected and she felt neglected but I beleive that both of us were trying....but about a week ago it seems that tempers rose and words were exchanged that should not have been and everything ended!! Since then I have really been allowed a lot of think time. I believe that my confidence level in some of those areas is rising and at the least I am recognizing my need for change. I totally understand that I am at fault and wish dearly that we could just "get" each other...but I am afraid that we are doomed to just agree to disagree and always wonder what could have been!
THIRD GOAL…not a clue where it is going but at least I know it’s a problem!
The promise of satisfaction in worldly loves is an enduring lie that moves the soul to unfaithfulness from its proper lover. -St. Augustine

People think crude is funny!!
I just read a local blog that really concerns me!! I would not want anyone bashing my blog so I will not name the blog I read. I will although write about my thoughts on the concepts this blog posted!
In my last couple weeks writing about what I want out of life and trying to create a more stable respectable life I have noticed a few things.
First: The race to chase things that will not last will always leave wanting more…that wanting more will always leave someone unsatisfied! We live in a world (or a country at least) that the loudest person seems to overcome the most logical! If “I scream louder then someone else then I must be right”, seems to be the way arguments and battles are won! Take note of this Democratic race!!
Examples:
The person that is best dressed must make the most money even though the person who buys cheaper clothes will save more!
The player who gets girl after girl and brags about their sexual encounters must know how to have great sex, although the married couple know how to better please each other because of time, natural respect and love for each other!
The person that pickets schools cause they don’t believe in God tends to get prayer thrown out…but spends an eternity in hell thinking about those things while the quiet ones who believe spend eternity partying!!
Second: Every unbelievably intelligent person that I know has two things in common. The first is confidence and the second is humility! The confidence to learn and read and apply the knowledge that is gained! The humility to know that they don’t have everything figured out which keeps them reading and learning more!! So my question is this…can an arrogant person really develop personally to the point that they are considered intelligent? Can a player really have a lasting relationship? Can someone who doesn’t read or listen ever grow intellectually?
I really hope that my pursuing a more complete life comes from reading, learning from others and learning from my mistakes! I hope that I continually realize that humility will accomplish goals and quiet actions will turn hearts not soap box screaming!
The wise man learns from others mistakes and a foolish man learns from his own!

Over the Top!!
So here is a theory…it’s my theory and not everyone has to agree with it!! I also don’t think everyone is wired to function or succeed with this theory. To some it may be too big, too difficult or too overwhelming!
I think that typically I fail at goals (I think most of us do) and I think that in that failure we tend to give up. We start New Years workout plans to have the celebrity body before summer, the overhaul on our house and lawn in the spring, the touching base with old friends every week or the Christmas newsletter done by the middle of November. We quit the gym by February, start the fountain in the back yard to only get it half done and stop, meet up with a couple friends and then get too busy and then send out our newsletter as a spring letter gearing up for the summer!!
I know that this is a habit of mine and I’m not sure if it is able to be corrected. I don’t believe I should just rollover and die on this but maybe manipulate the situation to be able to reach the same goals but in a different way!!
The answer…..Setting goals higher then what I need them to be set so that when I fail, and fail I will, I will still make some serious changes and actually meet the goals I want to….even in failing at the big big goals!!
Here is the concept: It seems like setting up a workout means that you plan to go three to five times a week to the gym. Typically things come up so you miss one or two days a week. So a 5 day workout becomes a 3 day workout and a 3 day workout becomes a 1 day workout. If someone set up a 7 day workout then they would always hit a 5 day workout…thus meeting their goal of transforming their body into the celebrity body each one of us dreams of having!
So my goal these 365 days is this: First is to set my goals so high that I will defiantly see a change and make incredible strides. Second is to give myself a challenge to see how much I can accomplish in just one year!
Side note: The ever wonderful and ambitious Angela Court…who has two beautiful daughters and a devoted husband, http://angelacorts.blogspot.com/, commented on my first post. She talked about a book called “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. I have read this book and the sequel…”The Purpose Driven Church”! I think both of these are excellent books and really push the thought of directive thinking and praying! Not to just walk through life aimlessly (much more in the books and you will have to read them to find out). Her comment is what sparked this post today and although I agree with her that my goals are high, I also believe that most of the time we never challenge ourselves. So to Angela Court…I want you to follow this blog with excitement as I push hard enough to complete what you think is too big!
Last thought: If you set out to be EXCELLENT you might make GOOD, if you set out to be GOOD you might make AVERAGE and if you set out to be AVERAGE you probably will be PISS POOR. So I am going to set out to be OVER THE TOP…then maybe I’ll hit EXCELLENT!!

It’s not that I have done anything wrong, but I haven’t done anything right
The last 7 days have not been so great!! I have only gone on two runs and didn’t complete any of my workouts with the bags!! I did no reading and basically played around on the internet at work!! I did although manage to pay almost $270 in debt!
So with 12 days down and 343 left to go I have changed my thinking!! I need very small goals and I need to focus on the day to day to-do’s. I also need to at the same time look at concepts in my life to gauge every situation.
I have three concepts in mind that I really think could help each situation I’m in.
First: Motivation
Second: Sound Financial Decisions
Third: Make Pro’s and Con’s Lists
I have seen that the majority of my failure has come from the lack of motivation. There is 168 hours in a week and I am only working 50 of them. I sleep on an average of 7 hours each night which leaves me with 69 hours a week to spare. 9.86 hours a day!!! Must be I am horrible with my time!! Motivation is the key!!
I need to start looking at every little expenditure that I make and ask myself if I need it? Can afford it? or Do without it? I want to start doing this with every bit of food, gum, entertainment and coffee!!
My father was a big pro’s and con’s list maker! It used to drive me crazy and now I’m wishing I did this more! He has a saying...”It’s not that you have done anything wrong, but you haven’t done anything right” So I am going to look now to this method and see if I can choose the best way to do things…not just the right one!

One of the comments on my first entry was about Dave Ramsey! The comment was asking if I knew who he was or if I have read his stuff. The answer is yes! I have read and listened to many of the things he has out there and I think it is wonderful stuff. I would defiantly say that I am pushing his concepts of getting rid of debt! You should get his book or listen to his cd's....they will help!!
I’ll see you in a couple days and let you know how I am doing!

Narrowing the Goals!!
It’s been FIVE days since I started this blog which leaves only 360 days left to complete my goals and re-arrange my life!! I have used the last five days to really take a look at the things I want to change and narrow my goals to more specific smaller goals to get the job done. I also think that I need to give more details on where my life is at so people can actually see a change.
First set of goals: Tuesday through Sunday workout.
Tue, Thur, Sat- Boxing workout. Wed, Fri, Sun- Run
Boxing workout: 3 Sets of 1 min on heavy bag
3 Sets of 2 min on speed bag
3 Sets of 3 min jumping jacks
4 Sets of 20 pushups
4 Sets of 30 crunches
4 Sets of 8 Pull ups
Run Workout: 2 mile
I want to shave off a few extra pounds with this workout and define my abs and shoulders. After this is complete we will set the next goal! As corny as this pic might be...this is my first goal with my body!!
My Financial Goal is going to be a bit more taxing!! I have $20,153 to pay off in 300 days….This is on top of my regular bills! Which means that I need to average $67.18 a day or $1881.04 a month. Right now my monthly bills, without this debt, are $1040 (this includes spending money) and I currently make about $1400 a month. Subtract my monthly income from the amount I need to pay in bills and debt, leaves me $1521.04 short per month. In the next FIVE days my goal is to figure out how to up my income so that I can meet this monthly goal!!
I have started reading again St. Augustine’s, “The confessions”! Each day at work my goal is to read 20 pages. When I am done I will give you a quick summary of the book!!

The Start of a New Life!!! Accountability is KING!!
Lately I have been really trying to put into perspective where I want to go in life and now at 27 years old what I want to be when I grow up! I have been actively writing my goals out and what I want to become but not actually pursueing those goals! I have decided to put my goals online and show through writing and pictures, my changes. My goal: Is to set extremely high standards and race to meet them!
Three Goal Areas:
1. Financial
2. Physical
3. Personal
Financial Goals: My first set of goals is to eliminate my debt. I am currently in debt $20,153, with less then $200 Savings. My goal is to completely reverse that and within a year from May 10, 2008 be completely out of debt with a savings of $20,000.
Physical Goal: I want to start a workout program that can take my body from average to above average. I want to develop a better fashion style and always dress for the occasion! I am going to post pics once a week to show my improvement and within a year show people that total overhaul can be done!!
Personal Goal: My first set of personal goals is to become a listener and doer instead of a talker and someone who delegates! First actual goal is to read on a regular basis the Bible and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Second goal is to start renovating my Victorian house and sell it. I will also post pics of before and after of this also!!
I am off and running!! I will be posting what I am doing to reach these goals and would love to have feedback/help!!!
